The goal of this assignment is to create a visual guide to the art genre provided to me. I was given Expressionism, so below you will find my guide to expressionism. In this assignment, I was tasked with finding examples of Expressionism through theatre designs, different time periods, and other expressions of this genre. I learned that Expressionism is just what it sounds like. It is an expression, but not of what we see of the world, but how what we see affects us. It is an expression of our traumas and fears, our own emotions. In addition, you will find peer-created guides to different artistic genres displayed below my own.
